Sweet peas!
This week we are going all in on arms. Since switching to mat classes thanks to Ms.Corona, we’ve been missing that deep arm burn. Our arms are responsible for so much of our daily routine, but we tend to forget to show them the love they deserve. Fitness and fashion culture often promote perfectly “toned” arms. When we don't fit the bill, we are harsh on ourselves. As we continue to work on our new year goal of shifting our relationship to working out away from punishment and towards nourishment, changing our internal dialogue is a huge step. Think about how powerful, badass, and already awesome your arms are. As we work on building more strength this week, try to keep the vibes positive.
As we get those arms feeling stronger, something that can assist is acknowledging the painful reality that is shoulder tension. Working from home, stress from the state of the world, and simply life can all add up to a pretty aggravated neck and shoulders. That tension can make it feel impossible to do your arm work. We have created 3, short but sweet videos to help alleviate some of that tension. Grab your chair, pinky ball, or foam roller… give these videos a try. Notice if after you feel the shoulders a little farther from your ears and a little less tension in the neck. We can't wait to see you on the mat this week!

Grab your pinky ball or tennis ball for this 12 minute quick release video. All you need is your mat, your ball, and a moment to work out the kinks in that neck, upper back, peck, and forearms. Great for an after work release.
All you need for this midday release is a chair! Takes less than 10 minutes, requires little space, and great to open up your neck, shoulders and mid back.
Finally, we have our yummy foam roll release work. Birdie made this one a bit challenging to film, but puppy kisses while releasing your bod?! Can’t really complain. This is a great way to open up your whole upper body in preparation for your day or any time really. Have fun with these quickies and let us know if you need any mods or have Q’s. We love you!
